Text messages

Sets by Hand sends a few text messages about orders and shops. You only get them if you ask for them, and you can stop them any time. Here's what we send, how you sign up, and how to stop.

What we send

We never send ads or sales texts. Every text starts with "Sets by Hand:" and only links to setsbyhand.com.

What a text looks like

Sets by Hand: Mara accepted your order and is making your set now. It ships by Friday, Nov 6. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.

Sets by Hand: New order for Velvet Oxblood. Please accept it within 24 hours in your Studio on setsbyhand.com. Reply STOP to opt out.

How you sign up

You sign up on our website by ticking a box. The box is never ticked for you, and texts are never required to buy or to sell. When you tick it, we save your number, the exact words you saw, and the time.

Shoppers

On a set page, the box sits right under the Buy now button. On the checkout page, it sits right above the Pay button. If you tick it, you type your mobile number on Stripe's secure checkout page, and the texts go to that number.

On a set page

A copy of the real box, for show. It can't be ticked here.

Artists

When an artist sets up her shop, the last step has the Seller Terms box and, under it, a separate box for texts. She can claim her shop without ticking it. Texts go to the mobile number she signed in with.

When an artist claims her shop

A copy of the real boxes, for show. They can't be ticked here.

Sign-in codes

An artist gets a code only when she types her number on the sign-in page and taps "Text me a code".

How often

Costs

Message and data rates may apply. Sets by Hand doesn't charge for texts.

How to stop

Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. After STOP, we send one text to confirm and then no more. To start again, reply START. Sign-in codes still come when you ask for one.

Your number stays private

We use your number only for the texts on this page. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text opt-in data and consent are never shared with anyone. Twilio, the company that delivers our texts, gets your number only to send them. Carriers aren't responsible for late or lost messages.
